NBA 2K21 PlayStation - How to Invite An Opponent To Play

To launch NBA 2K21 press your controller’s PlayStation logo button to bring up the PlayStation home menu. Use the left stick to navigate to the NBA 2K21 and by “X”.

Once in NBA 2K21, select the “Play Now” option found on the bottom left of the screen header. Use the left stick to move to and select the game type called “Play with Friends Online” from the list. This will bring up the player Locker Room and displays which of your friends are currently online. 

(:20) When a friend is online, their Online ID will appear on the right-hand side of your screen under “Friends Online”. Move to their Online Id and press the “X” button. This will give you the option to either invite them to the locker room or view their gamer card. Choose “invite to locker room”, and press “X”.

(:45) After your opponent accepts your invitation, their Online ID will move to “In the Locker Room”. Next press the Options button, located to the right of the touchpad on your PlayStation controller to advance to the next menu. Here you are able to customize your game settings, make sure to match the game settings to Rival’s specified settings:  Game Mode: Private Match, Game Style: (Rookie, Pro, All-Star, Superstar, Hall of Fame), Quarter Length (1 - 12 Minutes)

(1:08) Press the Options button to continue onto the team select screen and where you choose your team.  To view all available teams, use the right or left triggers to cycle through them all.  For additional team types, press the right or left bumpers. After you have selected your team, press the “X” button to confirm your choice. 

Once both players have selected their teams the game will begin.
